Win invites to the spanking new Orkut!

After listening to all the feedback from the Orkut-crazy guys out there who are envious of the cool Facebook interface, the Orkut team have rebuilt the site for a faster, richer and more intuitive experience including high performance JavaScript front-end applications and are now all set to granting access to this brand spanking new version of Orkut on an invite-only basis.

To win an invite for yourself and become the early adopter of this brand new version of Orkut, all you have to do is

• Join Poppy and Shashi on the official ‘Get the new Orkut!’ community and participate in one of the many activities and contests that will be taking place there.

  The first contest is going to be launched this Monday, the 2nd of November! So, make sure you join the community and get engaged in the various fun activities and contests hosted by Poppy and Shashi. Also be sure to check back often as they’ll be regularly announcing new ways to get an invite.

• Find a friend who’s already using the new version of Orkut and ask for an invite.

  Being the owners and moderators of ‘Get the new Orkut! community, the most eligible Orkut-crazy Googlers that can invite are Poppy Priya Paul, Sasidhar Akkiraju, Shaon Roy Chowdhury and Arun.

  Try sending them a friend request mentioning ‘www.orkut.com/neworkut‘ in your friend request text box, so that they can track you from the rest. If you are lucky enough they’ll accept your friend request, and send you an invite to the new Orkut interface.

Also the easiest way to get an invite from Sasidhar Akkiraju (aka Shashi) is to leave a comment on his blog post titled “Orkut and the social networking theme week”, mentioning that you have joined the new Orkut community and are looking forward to get an invite.

Also to increase your chances of getting an invitation to the new Orkut, go to ‘Get the new Orkut’ Google form and submit your email address Along with giving your email address you’ve to complete a sentence about Orkut in not more than 8 words.
