Troubleshooting Google We’re Sorry Page

According to Google’s Terms of Service, sending automated queries of any sort to Google is strictly prohibited. This variants of which include:

  1. Malicious software sending automated traffic to determine how a website or webpage ranks on Google for various queries
  2. ‘Meta-searching’ Google
  3. Performing ‘offline’ searches on Google

When Google detects your computer or network is sending these type of automated traffic to its servers, a ban is imposed on your IP address temporarily and you can no more access the Google search service. A Google ‘We’re Sorry’ page also appears with a message – ‘your computer or network may be sending automated queries…’

The only thing needed to access the Google search service again is to stop the automated traffic flow from you computer or network and the ban on your IP address shall be automatically lifted.

To make sure that no malicious software on your computer is sending this automated traffic to Google, first check for malware on your computer using any of the well-known programs given below. These programs can efficiently detect and remove such applications if any and troubleshoots the error message.

* Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
* Spybot Anti-Malware
* MacScan (for Mac users)

If you continue to receive this ‘We’re Sorry’ error message from Google even after cleaning malware on your PC, it’s very likely that some user or computer in your network is sending automated traffic to Google.
