The duties of MBA students will be different and they will be recruited in the fields of I.T Consultancy, Client Relationship Management and Business Development. In case if any one leaves the company before the agreed period, they have to pay the amount decided already in the agreement. The amount will be equal to the expenses incurred to give training to the candidate. Wipro, HCL are following the same procedure but Cognizant company is away from such practice. In this way, not to lose the trainees, Accenture & IBM are offering better emoluments.

Infosys made its recruitment rules more rigid and stated that minimum 68% marks are compulsory required in 10th and Intermediate studies. The main recruiter TCS had relaxed their recruiting rules and minimum 60% marks are required in 10th and Inter. When there are requirements, these IT companies will conduct campus interviews in universities and colleges. Because of this a candidate is being selected in two companies or more in some occasions.

Recruitment in Different Ways

Every company will conduct tests in many ways to assess a candidate before recruiting in campus selections. Where the requirement of candidates is more the selection process will be to some extent easier. But in recent times, it is found to be not easy to get job in campus interviews and so one has to have more expertise for getting selected.

Selection Process

The process of selection will be different from company to company. Generally, the selection process will be in three stages – written test, group discussion and personal interview.

In some occasions the written test will be conducted as aptitude test and technical test. The aptitude test will be conducted to estimate the numerical, quantitative and verbal aptitude of the candidate. Technical interview is to examine the knowledge of the candidate on subjects of particular domain.

Personal interview comprises of technical and HR rounds. In technical round the technical knowledge of the candidate will be tested. In HR round they will assess the candidate’s interest in learning, soft skills, broad mindedness, cross-cultural understanding and adaptability. The final interview will help the company to decide whether a candidate is suitable for the culture of the company or not.

HCL and TCS will give exemption of written round to those who are having good academic record. They can directly appear for group discussions and personal interviews. The HCL technologies call it as ‘Toppers-Shop’. While selecting the freshers, companies give preference to those who are having technical and communication skills more than the certifications in Microsoft, Java, .NET and CISCO etc. So, instead of getting various extra qualifications one should have strong hold on basics and communication skills.
