NEET Exam

NEET stands for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. It is an entrance examination for all the medical aspirants. Earlier the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) used to conduct the NEET exam. But from 2019, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct this examination. The NEET exam is for students who want to do graduation or post-graduation in medical or dental courses. A student can get admission in government or private medical or dental colleges in India.

Pattern of NEET Exam

A candidate needs to understand the pattern of any entrance examination. It is a national level examination. The total duration of the NEET exam is three hours. The mode of examination is offline i.e., pen and paper. A candidate needs to answer 180 multiple choice questions in total. The total marks of the examination is 720.

There will be 45 questions each from physics, chemistry, botany, and zoology. Any candidate giving this exam must be aware that there is negative marking. A candidate will score four points for every correct answer. One mark is deducted for each wrong response.

Languages of NEET Exam Question Paper

A candidate can choose any of the languages for the medium of the question paper. The available options are English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, Assamese, and Oriya. The option for the medium of the question paper must be declared in the application form. Option once made cannot be changed later.

NEET Eligibility Criteria

A candidate who has scored 50% marks in 10+2 is eligible for the NEET exam. Candidates from open school can also apply. The minimum age limit of a candidate is 17 years and the maximum is 25 years. There is an age relaxation of five years for the reserved category. A candidate must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the NEET exam.

Admit Card, Answer Key, and Result

Once a candidate is registered successfully, he is eligible to sit for the entrance examination. A candidate needs to download the admit card available online. For downloading the admit card, a candidate must enter the application number, date of birth, and security pin. A candidate must check for any error in the admit card.

Once the exam is over, the authority will release the NEET answer key for all test booklet numbers. A candidate can have the idea of the total marks secured form it. After the release of the NEET answer key, the authority will release the result of the NEET examination.
